Currency Of Soul.

Currency Of Soul.

A Poem by Maximus
"

Testament To Grief.

"
Tears are the currency of my soul's pain,
Consume the heart that suffers loss and woe.
Within the caverns of my broken heart,
They flow in rivulets of endless woe.

They trace the pathways of my sorrowed soul,
And etch their marks upon my weary face.
Each drop a testament to love's cruel sting,
And sorrow's grip upon my mortal frame.

Within the darkened depths of grief's embrace,
I mourn the loss of what can ne'er return.
The memories that haunt my lonely thoughts,
Are but a shadow of what once was true.

And as I gaze upon the silent void,
I can but wonder at life's fleeting verse.
For time has taken what I held most dear,
And left behind an ache that will not cease.

In contemplation of the human plight,
I question why we suffer love's cruel touch.
Is there a reason for this bitter pain?
Or is it but the will of forces vast?

Religion offers solace to the heart,
With promises of love beyond the grave.
Yet still I question if this solace true,
Or but a simple balm to soothe my pain.

Oh, love! In all its forms and guises true,
Why must we bear the burden of its loss?
For when love dies, a part of us is gone,
And we are left to mourn its sweet embrace.

But time, that unforgiving arbiter,
Will heal the wounds that love has carved so deep.
And so I wander through the passage of my days,
With memories of what once was mine to keep.

Though tears may flow as testament to grief,
I know that pain will slowly ebb away.
And in the depths of sorrow's dark night,
I'll find the strength to face another day.

I relate to this...
I shed tears in the aftermath of several losses.
My grief usually has to be put aside at first, then it creeps up on me.
a testament to the strength of the love between family or friends.
