The Disturbed.

The Disturbed.

A Poem by V. W. Wilhelmina
"

I wrote this when I discovered two other people I know have hallucinatory mental illnesses. Written: 08.01.2015

"

There’s three of us-

There’s probably more-

But there’s three of us

I can say for sure

I’m less lonely but I’m

more concerned

Who do I think will

die first?

We all smoke

We all draw blood

We all see things

others cannot

One schizo, two psychos

But what’s a name?

When our minds broke

they broke the same

I’m doing okay

I think I’ll survive

But as for the others?

For now, they’re alive.

"For now, they're alive", I loved how you ended this piece! Not so often people post pieces like this one anymore, sometimes I miss what writerscafé was years ago. Your poem was thoroughly enjoyed and made me remember lots of things I've seen and read. Thrilling, thanks for sharing.

Wow what a compliment!
That must be horrible for people to go through every single day, not knowing what is real or not, or knowing and being afraid when they lose their grasp on reality.

Wow....I do hope this is not autobiographical, but fear that it is. I'm one of 'those' who believe in prayer and you are now on my list. Writing IS therapeutic I believe so it is good to 'write it out.' May peace be yours. ~Sharon

Thanks for the prayers. Writing certainly is therapeutic, I agree!
A lot said in a few words. You hit the mark which is not an easy thing to do.

If a patient knows it is a hallucination they can ride with it until it ends. Hopefully normalcy returns until the next episode.

V.F. You are a good writer!

Regards,
Al
