A Poetic Stunt

A Poetic Stunt

This morning to me was so damned pleasing;

With temperatures well above freezing.

Hopefully mother nature is not teasing,

And spring has finally arrived.

Robins pecking worms from our lawn,

As I roll up and park as the day doth dawn,

A cup of coffee and a stretch and yawn.

Winter’s grasp we have again survived.

Hope springing eternal and found jubilation.

The warmer weather bringing on my elation.

And a much needed and well-earned vacation,

Needs of my own I have deprived.

Western Kansas a journey on a whim,

Is where we chose for our spring to begin.

Emerging from a winter so grim.

Now poetic stunts have been devised.

Stacking poem after poem as I write,

Written for only my own delight,

But to share would not be right,

So, for one person to read would be so prized.
