Deliverance

Deliverance

A Poem by J Carly
"

"Things I should have said, risks I should have taken..."

"

These dreams, these memories, these thoughts of you

They plague my mind and wake me from my restless slumber

Things I should have said, risks I should have taken

Chances I let pass me by, so many years ago.

No doubt they are as meaningless to you now

As they are pointless to me

These feelings I cannot share

For it would serve nothing

Than to fulfill my own selfish need

But how can I not share them when

Left unspoken, unheard, unwritten, and unread

These dreams, these memories, these thoughts of you

Only cause my heart to swell to almost bursting

And press upon my lips to part and finally

Share these forbidden secrets with you?

How I crave the sweet relief it would bring to unburden my heart and mind!

Perhaps the universe would find it a forgivable offense...

To write it down in ambiguous prose so as to protect this, my fragile ruse

For what vow would be broken, if these words

You never see, you never hear, and you never feel?

What harm can my love inflict?

If you never see the expression of longing on my face

If you never hear the story my heart longs to tell

If you never feel my arms reaching out for you and only you

If you never know the truth of my circumstance

And that my love for you is a love without deliverance

"If you never see the expression of longing on my face
If you never read the story my heart longs to tell
If you never feel my arms reaching out for you and only you
If you never know the truth of my circumstance
And that my love for you is a love without deliverance"
Those were my favorite lines, where seeing you in my mind, saying these words out loud, I could literally hear the agony of these word, the pain they held, the soul they're from.
Amazing write, I absolutely loved it, Thank you for sharing

Poetry is the finest therapy I know.Self administered free of cash at least. The emotional investment may never pay dividends but it eases the mind
An excellent piece of writing
