Spinning Coin

Spinning Coin

A Poem by J. C. Koch

Always heads and never tails.
Always tails and never heads.
The spinning coin flies again,
the light glinting on the treads.

This time I'm sure I'm right,
It's absolutely sure to be tails.
The coin lands in my hand,
and, once again, my luck fails.

Only three out of ten calls,
Thats all that I can get.
The spinning coin bested me,
and it will again, I bet.
