Gone Home

Gone Home

A Poem by John the Baptist
"

A meditation on death

"
She has gone home.
The passage was a troubled
One and fraught with storms,
Some of which she created,
But that means nothing now.
The final act has been played,
The curtain has come down,
And she has returned at last
To that from which she emerged,
Understanding fully now who
She is and has been all along.
She has gone home.

A poignant piece of writing reflecting on the life of an old friend who apparently didn't have an easy time of it. I am so sorry to hear of your loss. May she rest in eternal peace. Losing good friends is heart break. They are hard to come by. She will be missed.

Thanks, Chris. We were once close, but I had not seen her for years. Still, the news hit hard.

I am sorry to learn of your sad and unexpected loss John..

these fine words are fatefully fitting and tell so much about your friend... far more than just what they say.. may your friend now finally rest in peace.

Thanks, N. Nothing reminds of one's own mortality so sharply as the passage of old friends.
