![]() Overcast Shadows of MidnightA Poem by ParamountThe light is gone with the day. The evening breeze in settling in from the horizon as it blows gracefully through the trees. Darkness has risen on the scene as birds are nestled in their nests prepared determinately throughout the light of day. Not a sound is heard except for the wind as it announces the stormy clouds coming from the shadow-lands. Thunders then roar across the northern sky as streaks of lightning dance in the night sky. The rains then begin to pour down as if someone was preventing a great downpour of catastrophic proportions for quite some time. Time just slips away so expectantly, that not a single soul is ready for what lies ahead before dawn breaks through and rain droplets drip from the leaves one right after the other, heralding in a brand new day. The wind starts to pick up, more violent and tempestuous than usual. What on earth is happening? Are we ready for the truth of the matter? Midnight is calling out to us through these overcast shadows. Are we listening? Or are we not paying it any mind? © 2016 ParamountAuthor's Note
