Living Zombie

Living Zombie

A Poem by JEngele

Feet shuffle
Shoulders slump
Eyes lowered
Don't look up

Days blur
Years pass
Words are slurring
Don't be crass

Knees weak
Thoughts tired
All I want is
To be admired

Here's to
The guy who
Smiles slightly
In the way that
Makes my heart beat

Ba-Boom ba-boom ba-boom ba-boom crash

I forgot
That life could be
Sweet

You're so quiet, unassuming
Feel like I am presuming
Wish I knew you
Wish I knew who

Makes my heart beat

Passing glances
Mild stammer
Missed my chance
Pulse hammers

Body shaking
Stomach sick
I'm mistaken
Make this quick

Ba-boom ba-boom ba-boom ba-boom crash

Breath stagnates
Lungs burn
Being alive
Shouldn't hurt

Chest bursts
Time's expired
Can't survive,
Simply tired

Ba-boom... ba-boom...

Wish I knew you...
Wish I knew who...

Wish I knew how

You make my heart beat
