Title poem for a project I fondly call 3M. I love this poem!

 

Moonlight, magic & mystery

Is a place where everyone wants to be

Moonlight, magic & mystery

Come along on mystical ride with me

It’s an age old tale from the dawn of time 

An elusive dream with a magical rhyme

Much more than the sum of what you see

An illusion in life that we cannot set free

Tonight the moon glows across the lake

Joining the magic in the dreams we make

Just like it did in centuries gone past 

When the path of our lives were first cast

The days of yore are a far memory 

Lines from a play in someone’s fantasy 

We know these words no longer hold sway 

Yet we still fall in love the very same way

The mystery smolders in our beloved’s eyes

The moonlight makes them appear so wise

But, the way the clouds flicker constantly 

Has that old orb winking mischievously

So: Come one & all, as we regale you with words

The sweetest poetry that you’ve ever heard

And other wonders of such pure majesty

You will never forget what you’re about to see
