A Promise

A Promise

A Poem by Huh

Beneath my skin is a promise "I'll try",
But Beneath my heart is a promise I'm stained Red with...
like tinted glass in a church yard.

And the fabric of my skin,
woven in pallid wool-like cotton
Is thin, and begging for...
someone to tattoo it
like a map with ink

A stamp of approval,
To sooth my ailing blood
Because the oxygen in it -- I need to survive
Is killing me.

Seal it, too penetrable -- make it real
That's all I ask...Tell me...a promise is a promise
And you promised me too

My favorite singer currently is Fiona Apple; overall, Regina Spektor. I'm passionate, and my passion gets away from me sometimes; like a rabbit zipping along, making me the narrow-eyed hawk that chase.. more..
