Anti-Suicide

Anti-Suicide

A Poem by JKLowRider
"

I wrote this for one of my friends who was having a hard time(:

"
He holds it to his chest, thinking about his life. Everyone whose hurt him, The sharp blade of his knife.
He holds it close to his wrist, thinking it would be quicker with a small twist. The tears fall down his red eyes, some part deep inside him dies. He hold the knife steady, not loose, its not a noose.

But then he remebers the people who love him, his heart holds up like the love he got from them. He was told there was another way out, it was something small, but not a secret or doubt. Something in his mind made him drop that knife, why would he take his life, theres no grimm reaper.. no scythe.

He remebers his first kiss, that cute next door neighbor. That small love he would miss, the old lady and his favour. He looked down upon that still cold steel. Cold as the feeling his body could feel. His heart was racing.. but his mind was still. He picked up the knife and put it on the counter, He now knew something good.. a pointer

He remebered that old book his grandfather gave him. Its leather straps so old it amazed him. His grandfather once said "Read it forever, till your coals arn't red" Grandfather meant it deep, this I know... The boy started to weep.

He opened the old leather book to the front page, he read the first words.. his mind left its cage. In the beginning there was darkeness, then light. The boy read through each chapter, night after night.. what he had read, he knew it was right. The knife is still in the cuboard faded from light, mostly used for apples and oranges, the like. Its a sharp good knife... but not for taking his life.

He reads that book each and every night, to his sons and daughters enjoyed by his wife. That old leather bound book full of gracious words, each page a story.. the children it herds. On the front cover 9 golden letters and just one space. Those 9 golden letters.. never to erase.
