You are a kind soul, Chris. Many I knew in my college days... weren't. Bigots, misogynists, liars, etc... This song was for them. The title is from a short story by the Argentinian writer Jorge Luis Borges about the American folk legend Billy the Kid. A violent and dispossessed man, a thing I feared becoming in those days. Thank you for your kindness

A Monday song indeed, it was inspired by the work-week of the times, and hoe terrible people can be under the mask of professionalism...

Indeed. For instance, Doctors can be seen as cold hearted when giving bad news, but then again, how else would you deal with doing it every day and not detach themselves.

A disinterested Killer is a very interesting concept.
It is like Anne Sexton writing after Plath's suicide...and gradually planning her own.
"even now I have nothing against life"---she needed something new...she talked about emptying her breath from its bad prison...Maybe some killers are just doing it because they are looking for some new interest.
I like the guitar in this song quite a bit.

Ahhh, Anne Sexton... the Big Boots indeed. The song was very inspired by my time in college, specifically the staff of our school paper. Some of the worst people I've ever met. Bigoted, sexist, the works. I got good at the games of the aspiring young professional... thank you for your kind thoughts, I struggle playing and singing at the same time.
