Kestrel

Kestrel

A Stage Play by John Sullivan

Another song from the drunk and psychotic days...

I can't quite remember
all the places I've been
so i look out my window
now the clouds are moving in

so I smile
and put on a show in my mind
while the cold wind
blows

we buy and we sell
and we reap and we sow
we convince ourselves
of the things
we think we know
we hide behind mirrors
searching and dying
for ways to live as kings
while all the while
the truth sings of
love and hate and life and death
all these things
held
in a single breath

We live a lifetime within our minds in a single breath. We live and grow we reap what we sow.

Love the title first. This hovers over life in much the same way. Excellent use of words.
