Shinrin-yoku

Shinrin-yoku

A Poem by John Sullivan

the spider's web
tides flow and ebb
time is fair, so be aware
to take the time, breathe in the air
ancient pines stretch towards the sky
take a moment to wonder why
take off the mask, the uniform
it's kindness' task, love will be borne
it's wisdom's song, as forests grow
as time goes on, the less we know

We should all take the time to bathe In the scents of nature and actually remember to breathe, take moments when we can and find the calm in a chaotic life and world.
Superbly written.

At the mention of pines, I was reminded of the scent in a pine forest. That certainly stirs the senses. Visual and fragrant is this little piece John. Lovely.

Indeed, time may be fair, but it is also damned fast.

This reminds me of our trip down the Amazon River and side trip in the jungle... where one can be alone and feel alone surrounded by so much nature...where you can't even see the sky.... be naked, take it all in...the sounds, the scents, the feel of sweat dripping off your forehead...so much to learn....
Warmly, B
