Stroll Gently

Stroll Gently

A Poem by Jessie MacDonald
"

On new love

"
He came into my life with uncertainty
His and mine
And we grew together and bonded
And my heart separated and joined his
And it's wonderful and it's painful, the uncertainty.

I want us to be inseparable but separate
Separate lives but leading one
And my heart aches for the destruction we could cause
Too quickly he came into my life and too quickly he could leave
Let go, but don't run
Stroll gently in his life.

I like the haunting, romantic tone that this poem sets. I like how the narrator is longing for it's heart to be joined with the one this poem speaks of. Poetry used to be something I resented, but it is now one of the few joys that I find life has to offer. Keep writing poetry :)
