Dearest Reprobate - Reprised

Dearest Reprobate - Reprised

A Poem by JMo

I made my escape softly and sadly

Slipped the ties that had so long bound me

Made my way through this stratum of time

Determined what I was looking for, I would find

Going through the motions of an ordinary life

That’s what I wanted, what I thought was right

But then it hit, a jolt, that shock to the soul

The Dark Night of canticle, if truth be told

Awareness, it dawned and something clicked

Things aren’t what they seem, dare to admit

Your fears they haunt you, and make you a ghost

Of the person you could be, time to make the most

Strip your fears and run naked through your path

The pain can’t be worse than all that you’ve had

Open up, feel it, and set yourself free

Reconnect the circuitry linking you to me.
