STARR

STARR

A Poem by Joseph B Clipper

she should really change the sheets
more than once a week
cause i can see how busy she has been
lately there is nothing left inside her
just the poison of a black widow spider
that was left in a few too many men
there was a time when starr was queen
nothing about her was tainted or cheap
but the hands of time carved lines in her face
now she's less than a memory, more than a trace
she should really try to smile
a few times more than once in a while
cause i can see how tired she's getting
lately she's hasnt been the same
layered with the crust of middle age
long ago i became a man in her webbing
