"Are You Being Served?"

"Are You Being Served?"

A Poem by JPatrickAusanka

My father and I used to watch
on the little black and white TV
British comedy.
I didn't get it. But I laughed, because he did.
I did a lot of things, just because he did.
His favorite was
"Are you being served?"
About a srewball
consortium of retail workers
who drove each other crazy.
Maybe it's appropriate how crazy
he drives me now.
I don't watch British comedy anymore
not much anyways,
and I still don't get it.
I don't talk to my father anymore,
not much anyways,
I still don't get him
