I feel alone even when people surround me

There are times where this feeling I don’t want to fight

If I could shake my introvertedness I’d be free

 

I watch others move through the room full of glee

While I just want to find a place to hide out of sight

It can be an issue even if there’re just three

I am much more comfortable in the dark, at night

People who are like me will definitely agree

Together we may huddle and share in this plight

If I know the people it can lower the degree

If I’m alone it is likely I will take flight

If you invite me to a party I’ll be an absentee

I am not ready to show up yet, even after midnight
