Forever to Be

Job 26:6 "The realm of the dead is naked before God; Destruction lies uncovered."

No named faces passing me by,

Wandering forever not asking why.

Why be condemned to pitiful place

When you could find a home much better than this?

 

Soulless, walking the night,

Scaring those who run in fright,

But no one helps as we scream for help,

Just walk on, ignoring our calls.

 

This confidence, so fake, so useless.

This burden on our back, such a nuisance.

Lying from our families in fear of pain,

When we could save them, just by letting them in.

 

This guilt is forever, never stopping in our hearts.

Shaking us to the core, breaking us into shards.

We don’t really look at it though, fearful of what we’ll see.

We don’t look at our souls, shadows forever to be.
