Miracle In the Rain

Miracle In the Rain

A Poem by Jack Carver
"

A sonnet with a surprise ending for both brothers and those in the wrath of God to enjoy.

"
He is big, he is black, he is powerful as a bear
He is hungry for what we have and cannot get it
He has blades at the end of his arms and everywhere
It could help him stop and have peace but he won't let it
The cop has a gun and the store owner two
They feel safe for now and even laugh and joke
As he hears and nears not caring for them or you
As he takes cover in his coat and bears his soak
The rain is heavy like fog so they don't expect
A crowd that would be any trouble yet
But he looks furtively around in circumspect
Not realizing the cop's worst shot is the best bet
He sees the bear and he raises his gun on high
He shoots and the hungry will be fed by and by.
