Memory

Memory

A Poem by JKennings

Break through the falling skies

Return from whence you came

As everything, you belong to nothing.

Step out from the lifeless husk and begin

Begin again what you ventured before breath

Never ending, never starting.

As everything, you belong to nothing

To experience is what you crave

Living and breathing and dying

Eagerness grips you and tears through you

This aeon old world becomes your plaything

As everything, you belong to nothing

Grabbing the bull by the horns

Thinking before you speak

Never running by the pool

Holding the door open

Better having loved and lost

As nothing, you belong to everything.
