Fear to Dread

Fear to Dread

A Poem by Jacob Nimble

Assume the twistings in my head are all from things I fear to dread

and not those things I fear to tread

upon

and you will find that I’m unkind

and more or less rather resigned

to pain upon another’s nasty stake.

It’s not quite in my nature

though

to fear alone these things to be

and so a second puzzle piece

makes up what I might just call “me.”

I don’t quite write like others write

and I find this rather alright

however it does cause  some trouble

when in class my thoughts do bubble

over

out onto the page reserved for class

and not my musings on my lovely lass.

Likewise I find that drawings done by me

are fright’ning

simple

and a little bit silly

I can’t say that I know I’m right

but really I do strange things from oversight

so let my strange confusing words astound you

if you’re the kind of person who gets wowed

and if you’re not let my heart expound true

for I’m just another fool here to be crowned.
