two Sleeping cats in a Lion Cage

two Sleeping cats in a Lion Cage

A Poem by Jacqueline Murray
"

1 April 2013

"
the Ant said that i
was like the Sleeping cat,
"but not in a good way,"
she said

because we both Sit in Silence and
Wait for the mice
to Introduce Themselves,

Never feeding our own mouths

and when she dies, (the cat)
so Shall i
because dead is not is dead is Was
and i will was because

my mirror will have become an Anymore,
and i will be the last left standing in the
looking glass my
pores are wider,
my lips more shriveled and i
am wide, though standing only at
five-foot-one

so

When i die,
we both perish because the others are not like us
in the jungle,
they Saying, "It Is Happening" and we
demanding of the world,
"what will happen?" As If
we didn't know

And people wonder at Cheshire smiles. He smiles because he knows.
