Sometimes I Wish I Was an Animal

Sometimes I Wish I Was an Animal

A Poem by Jaeda

Sometimes I wish I was an animal.
If I was a cat, people would know when I was happy
'Cause I would purr.
And hissing and scratching
Would tell you
"I mean business."

If I was a goat, I could eat anything.
Anything at all.
And people would understand
My gruff, aloof nature.
They would know that-
"I don't care."

If I was a fish, I could live in the crowd
And be comfortable there.
I could be a people person
(A fish fish?)
And I would be fine
"Being just like you."

But I am not an animal.
I am me.
And sometimes people don't know
If I mean business
If I care
If I am like them
And it's confusing.
Too bad for them.

About
I'm a pretty depressing writer, if I'm to be honest. But I do love comments from anyone willing to read my poems, and I do try to review any commentator's works, too. I don't figure my background is t.. more..

Writing
