Blessed Keys of Black and White

Blessed Keys of Black and White

A Poem by Edmond Dantes

Blessed keys of black and white,
Tenderly kissed the sound takes flight
No doth beauty does ye lack
Upon thy navel upon thy night
Glorious percussion doth weeps the eye
Which no holier truth can sanctify
Struggle if you must but I will obey it
No sound more pure; a breath of sigh
To watch you play; hands outstretched...back upright
Lovely sojourn, if only everyday I could behold this sight
What is this that I hear that touches my soul?
Pure essence of human nature...the musical creation, we mustn't fight.

* what can i say, i like the piano even though i cannot play---one day i'll learn, I was inspired by the beautiful sound & movies such as Vitus & The Piano with holly hunter.

Wonderful play on words...
though you've written of the piano.. and its
beautiful melody, I too found it to be a bit
sensual... directing other paths ....

Very well done my friend! I enjoyed the
music ... :)

as a pianist i am struck by your eloquence in describing both piano and player.

you have an almost victorian vocabulary but really it leans towards passion rather than antiquated.

i love the

"Struggle if you must but I will obey it
No sound more pure; a breath of sigh"

yes! no sound more pure. i am in complete agreement.

I find this completely erotic! I know it's supposed to be about a piano but all the same...

Thanks for sharing.

i love this piece..you do capture the beauty of the instrument, but i cant help seeing sex in this too..the beauty of the instrument, as connected with that of human nature.

This was beautiful.
Really beautiful.
You did an amazing job at capturing the beauty of the piano.
It truly is a magnificent instrument with a sound that can't be matched.
Reading this poem made me really happy.
And now I crave the sound of the piano...
haha.
=)
