The Lover of Peace and Love

The Lover of Peace and Love

A Poem by mekajamjam

A man so lonely

Ever loved by a sole woman

Every night he is fed by her might

Every night he is fed by her light

In a time when he had none

she showered him with her bountiful love

He was devastated by the loss of his better half,

devastated by the loss of his original wife

This woman,

gave him hope,

gave him life,

gave him everything he thought was gone.

One dark night,

a destructive wind,

uncovered the deceit of this fairy woman.

He raised his hand to her glory

Strike and strike he thought he could

Until nothing came of his blow to blow

Stricken and confused

The soft wind spoke,

to his hidden hues.

I am the lover

of Peace and Love

The peace you have always desired

The love you have yet to truly acquire

Not even you can strike down

What lies within

The settling of the wind,

shone a glow so bright.

The woman beneath his very depths

smiled in acceptance at his enlightened sight

He had found this woman

with hands in his pockets,

misplaced and unguided.

He never knew until that moment

the struggle she disguised to keep him alive.

He never knew the drive for his inspired life

she mustered each mortal second.

Standing tall he held out a hand,

he lent his shoulder,

he opened his arms,

and embraced the very woman

that awakened his deliverance.

Now a single entity,

love ever divine,

another miraculous mistress

is found.
