Dear Santa,

I know it's been quite some time since I've written to you. Things have been difficult this year. I've been sick you see. I have been for a long time and things are beginning to get worse. I'm afraid that I won't be around for much longer. My son lives with his mother and she doesn't want him to see me anymore. She says she's afraid that I'll just scare him. I've recently gotten back together with the love of my life. Things are going well so far, but I'm going to be in the hospital through Christmas and her car was just reposessed. I'll be having surgery on Christmas Eve to try and ease pressure on my brain. The doctors aren't sure if it

will work. Nobody seems to be able to tell me how likely it is that I'll make it through the surgery without complications. I don't know if I'll make it out at all. I don't want anything for myself really. I just want one more Christmas with my family. I want to be able to hold my son close one more time. To kiss my fiance and tell her things will be fine. I just want them to be happy and not be worried. I wish for you to give them a good

Christmas. If anything happens to me, don't ruin the holiday for them.  Make sure they don't find out on the holiday. Thank you Santa. Good luck this year.

Your friend,

James

The events in the letter are all true but I changed the timeline a bit. Things are better now and we plan on having a wonderful Christmas this year.

Aw my goodness. What makes it so good in a way, (that is probably very different then it's going to come out) is that you're so real, a real person with real experiences talking about genuine emotions. And it's just plain and simple thanking and asking, it's not done by somebdoy who has no idea who just assumes it has to be all over the top and eccentric just to get people to believe in the drama. It is what it is- no stringa attaches, but it definately touches me, and as far as I'm concerned, that's what good writing is all about. Well Done, xx
