"Slip and Fall" Love

"Slip and Fall" Love

A Poem by James Von

When I saw you on that first night,
You were dancing in the sparkling light.
I never believed in "love at first sight",
Then we danced together and it felt so right.

As you walked away I felt a sense of alarm,
Then you slipped and fell into my arms.
I thought to myself I see no harm,
That's when I decided to turn on the charm.

I lifted you up and kissed you on the cheek,
You were so beautiful,so mild and meek.
You never knew you made my knees weak,
As my emotions reached their highest peak.

Not knowing if these feelings were even true,
I had no earthly idea what to say or do.
I told you that I would like to get to know you,
Looking up at me you said "you would like that to".

Then,"love at first sight"became the art,
Of the moment when you stole my heart.
How a little slip and fall played a part,
Of a new life together that you and I would start.

Now we are happily married and still together,
I promised you that I would love you forever.
So till the day that I die no one will ever,
Take your place in my heart, no not never.
