I Need More Time

I Need More Time

A Poem by JanMarie
"

for my mother

"

Mom, you can't die on me yet; I need more time
To hit a big state lottery,
Set you up in style,
Buy you a movie star boyfriend.

Mom, you shouldn't die on me yet; I need more time
To write my first best-selling novel,
Dedicate it to you,
Give you a reason to be proud.

Mom, I wish you wouldn't die on me yet; I need more time
To beat you at Yahtzee,
Walk with you in the park,
Talk for hours about nothing.

Mom, please don't die on me yet; I'm not ready for the time
I'll have to hold your hand,
Stroke your cheek,
Kiss you good-bye.

gives voice to all those things we shoulda done when someone was with us. we never have enough time with the people we love. and we should never waste a moment to say i love you. this is a sweet tribute to a precious relationship. thanks for sharing your heart.
