I Needed You

I Needed You

A Poem by Les
"

Lost love can hurt so bad

"

I wake in the dead of night

to the slam of a door, and

the space beside me, that

begins to grow cold.

I stumble from the bed

and after searching, find

that you're gone.

I open the door and call

your name into the night.

The thunder and wind only

drown my cries.

Each morning, I look into the

mirror, trying to conjure up a smile

from a man who is quickly becoming

a shell.

We had dreams and hopes.

A house filled with love.

You've taken those things with

you. Aspirations are incomplete.

For you left me, just when I needed

you most.
