Protestor's will ProtestA Poem by Jane Bruce
PROTESTORS WILL PROTEST
The smashing of windows, the throwing of bricks, Looters looting, through tear gas mist, A Washington Church set ablaze, As the Country's protesters are in full rage, Police armed with shields and bullet proof vests, An unarmed black civilian killed started these protests, George Floyd, Say his name the crowds all shout, Through the anger of police brutality once again without doubt, A worried Whitehouse, outside lights off at 11pm, As President Trump's taken to the bunker in fear for him, A dressed up Spiderman raises his fist in despair, The Freedom Tower behind him in a shining glare, The flipping of cars and petrol bombs thrown, Riots galore in over 50 states now known, Deploying of the Secret Service as the anger grows, Fatalities and injuries the numbers unknown, A man commandeering a Police horse and riding off, Upon the horses back, in a gallop, not in a trot, Vulgarities sprayed in Salt Lake City, On the local Police Station, they show no pity, Activists arm in arm as they march Brooklyn Bridge, Bold in numbers as tall as a hedge, Gunfire ringing out all around, As fear and fighting sending some to the ground, Atlanta Police injured by and ATV, What will be the outcome of this carnage to see, Most certainly life loss and that's for sure, As another riot and protest shows its face once more.
