We say goodbye

But do we really?

We hold on to our memories

And never want them to fade

 

Memories, be them good or bad

Stick in our minds so vividly

So many of them

Trying to recall what went wrong

 

So happy we once were

Wanting to marry

Spend all our days together

But now all that has gone

 

What happened?

Did we just drift apart?

Did we not understand each other?

Why has this happened?

 

I feel so empty

So alone

So lonely

Memories are all I have left

 

I treasure each one

I will never forget

The first time we met

The first time we kissed

 

I say farewell to you now

Farewell to you my lover

Farewell to you my best friend

Our life together has now ended..

Poignant poem....the heartfelt emotion so tangiable. Sometimes we can be absorbed in the past, trying to find the answer to questions that sometimes just can't be answered. Sometimes it just IS and we have to try and hang on to the good memories and let the pain and hurt go when we are ready.
