The storm has come

The storm has come

A Poem by Jasmine

Engines roar by

rapid movement

Vision is blurred

rain drops skate down my window

I am alone

silence is like a shadow

it follows

the rain hits the ground

It ripples

and the wind bellows

Trees stand like soldiers

the war has begun

the moon beams

yet

Darkness surrounds

stars twinkle in the night

branches rustle

the wind howls a song

A voice in the distance

cries lurk in the dark

hidden

petrified

light strikes the open air

inhale

exhale

dawn is upon us

mist fills the morning horizon

         I am no longer afraid.
