Cthulhu

Cthulhu

A Poem by NightShade
"

Just remembered an old Lovecraft inspired piece of mine from what seems an eon ago.

"

Twisted, dark and Nameless being

Oh Ancient One supreme!

Who lies in death, dreaming,

of entropy teeming

upon the polluted shores of a dying world.

Awaiting the hour of it's power unfurled!

Who came from another plane.

Bringer of unspeakable pain.

Tearing the angles agape;

Manifesting with hideous shape:

Like unto a mountain in size.

Iniquity Eternal looms in it's eyes.

Bat-like wings and dragon's claw,

tentacles spew forth from it's maw.

Resonant voice with which to enthrall,

Woe to those who heed The Call...

A mesmerising piece of work; glorified and awesome! The rhyming's solid and wonderful, conveying who and what Cthulhu is.
The title drew me in, and seeing as I always liked Cthulhu, I thought I should read it.
Courteously,
The Misted Eyes that Gaze from Beyond the Veil of Frost

Ah, yet again another wonderful piece that sucked me and took a hold of my mind. I felt myself slip into the world in which you created with your words, and the emotions that flowed with them took place in my veins.

I find myself wanting to farm words to describe how wonderful this piece was, and yet I find myself at loss, still hooked with the lingering fingers of the words used and the scene set.

Again Wonderful job.

This is excellent in its darkness--reminds me of some of Robert E. Howard's works.
