Schizophrenia Of The Obscure

Countless questions asked,

Wistful and witty,

Decals on wounds;

Hate,

Squatting in the empty hallways

            Of this thing called

            Life.

Butterflies in my guts,

Maggots writhing in my brain,

Waves of anger rolling,

            Distorting,

            Distending,

            Neverending.

Voices in my throat yelling :

            REJECT DOUBT!

            FIGHT THE SYSTEM!

            RESIST! RESIST! RESIST!

Hugging the bottom of the trenches,

Filled with self-loathing,

I watch her as she

Bayonets everyone I know

" Like a pro "

Smooth like a fast-acting laxative

Them at her side

The Devil and the assistants

Vomiting bad catch phrases

And popping ecstasy pills like

            Candy.

Scented ribbons of flesh taken

From the deviances of every day demons

Hand-stitched to form the custom-fitted 3-piece suit

She wears

Like a royal badge of madness

In this refined excuse

For humanity.

Do you want some

            Candy?
