fountains, fields, visions (with evoca)

fountains, fields, visions (with evoca)

A Poem by J
"

Self-explanatory? Search for self? You tell me, eh?

"

me, i'm jasmine and clover honey
rooted to the idea of tragedy
being a jaded ruby slipper.

dorothy?
she found the lucky land
whisked back
and found
all sorts of redemption
violet, the colour of wind upon tongues
hushed and soft, genie brilliance
whisked, whisked egg-battered whites
and sunrises telling me
i'm such a dreamer,
a flagrant, fragrant dreamer

too caught up
in why
one size fits all
never fits quite right,
too believing
of brown-nosed strangers
poking sticks and stones
and filthy promises
into my hands.

i don't believe them now.
i found sanctity
in the cathedral of my belly.
i found a gravel road
and decided
it needed spraying
with gypsies
gaping wide, smiling
as if their jeans would burst
and turn scarlet
from loving and laughing
so damn hard.

and that's what i want: magic and energy
to tell me i am jasmine and clover honey
searching for other fields, searching for grass
to lay my head upon, my stalks
and shadows and petals
and dandelion crowns
to graze upon
my version
of a violet
halo.

i believe in different meanings of essence.
in the totality of infinite. in the reasoning
of the obscure, art-fucked tendencies
found in intellectuals, hobo musos
and junked-up hookers
searching, searching
for?

you'll find it, i'm sure.
arcs and circles, arcs and circles.

hold my hands.

What a sensational poem. As with most of your poems it has an original with language juxtaposing diverse images that seem to suit so well. It's like a trip down that yellow brick road to find it sprayed with gypsies and I guess that is my favourite part of this poem.

Its actually quite a long road but because of the twists and turns it doesn't seem too long. I could listen to it all day long.

I like this recent one-and Jasmine and clover honey sounds really yummy, and I want some herbal tea now. I felt this was tres hippy-but I could dig it and felt like singing it. Cool. Very cool.

This is a smorgasbord of color-meets sond ...becomes tactile/emotional thought
I hope that made sense....

"Violet, the color of wind upon tongues' .................................( that enchants me)

You know I love this right? Yes I do, I can almost tase candied honey the clover type the type that is best on muffins crumpets and pikelets (sp) , jasmine the little sweet trumpets children drink from, yummmmm, and then there is Oz, that place across the ditch. I love this this because it changes bad for good, it leaves old and dark for light and bright and man I cant tell you really what I see sometime when I read a persons work when its really special to me, to what I see in it all color and flavor and amaizing tactile sensations. Ah blah, I cant say anything I want to convey but say I really love this one J, and I am keeping this one.

Thank you for not abandoning us completely. I'll be back to read this soon.
I've explored that site a tiny bit, but am deep in a couple of writing projects at the moment, treading carefully so I don't kill them...you know how it is. Lol. Take care.

Puting this safely in my library for now.

I normally wouldn't care too much for a piece such as this, but I must say that adding your voice to the mix, hearing how the author feels it should be read, added a whole new dimension that added a flavor not easily found when reading the words alone. Kudos to you for the thought to add that. It really made the poetry come alive!

I like mad flights and this is pretty mad...i especially like cathedral belly and junked up hookers...and I don't even know if I am searching...or what I am searching for...or if anything is worth searching for...i have no dreams and make no wishes being sort of too lazy to bother. Actually I like the jaded ruby slipper as well, ruby is a great word, it sounds like a big woman. Spraying with gypsies is a puzzling line...and it would definitely get you in trouble in Brussels as they would think it might be some slur on a minority. ***k Brussels, they have no idea about poetry. I now seriously wonder if I should be searching for something! But what the hell is worth searching for? This is it, right? What more is there than this? Enjoyed this cos it turned me on a bit. Now what do I do!?!

O you flagrant fragrant dreamer! The Dorothy that comes to mind followed a yellow brick road or another that loved her sunburnt country. Still a third, which may not apply or connect is that dinosaur lady.

To join hands with such a dreamer, well, what more could anyone ask for!

I'm dandelions and blackberries and rooted to the idea of hope. There are so many thoughts reading these words. So many 'oh, my' moments. I believe in different meanings of essence, too. I believe in the vagaries of perception. There were parts of this that seemed similar to Whitman's "Song of Myself". Similar in tone and thought but very definitely belonging to your voice.

My favorite line is "I found sanctity in the cathedral of my belly." It's just such a lovely way to say 'all I need is already within me." Thanks much for posting something new.
