Aurora in June

Aurora in June

A Poem by J

She becomes the shadow
you are tempted to hold
and show the sun to

as a barrel-chested sky of mourning
departs, cirrus feathers of orangeblossom
giving way to a freedom found
in the sophistry of
revelation.

*

A cup half-drained and stowed away
beyond the walls of your own Eden's orb;

the commiseration which eventuates
when all is a fleeting grove of apples

hurriedly picked and thrown into
the nearest cardboard box.

*

Parched and denuded
roots, what understanding
of the endless cycle
of fortune and

omission, the perspective wrought
from studying the zodiac and its
ethereal, limitless
flaws.

*

All is fallacy in this broken light.
The moment is scattered
from an urn

into
the river.

Less than ten views for this piece? What the hell are people thinking? Marvelously visual, romantic but never sloppy, and wonderfully paced. This piece is the whole package.

Wow J! It is so so good to read you. I adore your poem. The imagery is most suitable to a June Aurora, your final verse sparkling in lifes transparency.

with a smile from
