All Our Fantasies Are Failing

All Our Fantasies Are Failing

A Poem by JayJayBlue
"

About slowly realising that a relationship or friendship is reaching it's end

"
Displace the weight and momentum
Shift the blame with the sands
Don't condemn me by your cracked standards
But I'm too weak to disagree
I'm too weak to make a stand

I'm enslaved to all of your instincts
Punished for your whims and fancies
Fantasies are all bound to fade
And love is soon to follow the same way

Misplaced my sense of compassion
My feeling to belong
I'm safer with fairy gold than you
But I'm burdened by your tears
By your heart's out of tune song

I'm enslaved to all of your instincts
Punished for your whims and fancies
Fantasies are all bound to fade
And love is soon to follow the same way

I try to turn to leave again
I've lost the wool over my cynical eyes
But horror is no better than fiction
And I'm falling far below your standard
In place where we all die
