Let Me Speak

Let Me Speak

A Poem by JayJayBlue
"

About the fallout of a major argument started over previously inconsequential matters

"
I'm on the run
Your words have sent me on the back foot
The devil jumped off my shoulder
And now he's just walking around
As if I haven't
Caused enough damage in this town
Let me speak
The words you hear are as you find them
Another repeat
Of the other times I've loved and lost
I'm sorry for my pride
My refusal to let the ghosts die
I'm sorry for my stubborn resolve
For bringing my malice
Back to life
I'm losing you
Your tears send me to a broken place
The angels have flown away
And now I'm walking around
Shedding the memories
Of the damage done in this town
Let me try
To find a enduring solution
Another truth buried tonight
Still a world away
From absolution
I'm sorry for my pride
My refusal to let the ghosts die
I'm sorry for my stubborn resolve
For bringing my malice
Back to life
