A Long State Of Decay

A Long State Of Decay

A Poem by JayJayBlue
"

About the loss of youth, and feeling that you're becoming old, week and weary

"
My house of cards, now scattered far
I used to have the throne
I used to ride alongside gods
But I have lost my home
My house of cards, fading like stars

My confidence has dropped into the pit
Down the waterfall off the edge of the world
I'm a puzzle where the pieces no longer fit
There's nothing left of me

It's too late to ponder redemption
My youth is in a state of decay
I no longer have the power to change
There are no words for me to say
My soul crumbles, there's no exemption

My confidence has dropped into the pit
Down the waterfall off the edge of the world
I'm a puzzle where the pieces no longer fit
There's nothing left of me

Now where is a place for me to die
I see the light of heaven's glow
But I feel the pull of Hell below
It's all out of my hands
Like my throne built on sand

My confidence has dropped into the pit
Down the waterfall off the edge of the world
I'm a puzzle where the pieces no longer fit
There's nothing left of me

This poem expresses so much of disappointments, frustration and negativity. I just hope you get back the power of positivity and write something on that as well. Good honest poem but bit sad.
