All Warnings Are Silent

All Warnings Are Silent

A Poem by JayJayBlue
"

About meeting someone for the first time after talking to them for a while a la Catfish, but realising that the reality is never as good as the ideal

"
She sends me messages enveloped in affection
And I can see her, smiling in my mind's eye
Today I can feel her, wishing she was close by
And all is well
The alarm bells staying silent
Have I found heaven?
Or just an alternate hell?

She speaks words, becoming ever sweeter
And I can sense her, wanting to kiss me
The urge to embrace her, returned mutually
And all is well
No warnings on the horizon
Have I found an angel?
Or just a demon who fell?

Is it too soon to ask to meet?
The game of love has changed and warped
All rules sent in reverse
What's the right or wrong thing anymore?

And now the time has finally arrived
To meet this wonder for the first time
Will all be well?
There's a stirring in the silence
Is this vision of heaven
Or a belated hell?

But she's an ugly soul, concealed deep
And I'm finally awake from my drawn-out sleep
All is in tatters
The bells ringing out loud now
My long-distance heaven
Emphatically shattered

Another regret, another defeat
The game continues ever onward
Dreams are beautiful in sleep
But today I'll fall on my sword
