The Fire

There is a fire inside me. It's always burning. Sometimes it's dim and maybe just a bit of smoke as it's evidence, but it's always there, always burning. I'm not sure when it started and I don't think it could end even if I tried to quench it.

I see it in some. Those that it is in don't have to do anything to display it. They can't hide it. It's just there, an unseen part of them that I connect too. Others that have it will recognize it as well. They can't get rid of it either. Things come there way trying to stomp it out, trying to pour water on it, but there efforts are futile. It will always be there.

There are some that I don't see it in. To them you can't even explain what it is. You can try but they cannot fathom it. It's not something that can be taught or explained.

I don't even know when it started or how I got it. I'm not sure if it was forced on me or if I received it openly. All I know is it's there and I like it.

What is this fire? Like I said I cannot define it. It is a passion, a blessing and a curse. It is a hunger that is never quenched for a food that some have never had. Sometimes it feels good but it will burn a hole in me if not fed, yet the more its given the more it consumes me.
