Bandersnatch

Bandersnatch

A Poem by A Synfull Argonaut

A night eternal lingers in the dingy grove,
So dark it is and dead,
Black water rush where Jander river slosh’n flow,
Grey worm lie in its bed;
Mossy tomb of those at rest all lay round about,
And crooked branch of oak,
That creep and crawl through obelisk so crack’d but stout,
Nigh warty toad doth croak;
Concentrique found,
Within the ground,
Deep mouth yawns many teeth.

Beware the night watchers, my child,
And cicada that buzz like bee,
Attend to sound of crow, my child,
And screech owl in crimson tree.

If each omen doth appear,
To far meadow run, full of fear,
For the Bandersnatch is near.

With its gluttony so dampened,
Searches for its nearest victim,
Sorry child all abandoned,
For it takes’m ad libitum…

To a dark night eternal in the dingy grove,
So dark it is and dead,
Black water rush where Jander river slosh’n flow,
Grey worm lie in its bed;
Mossy tomb of those at rest all lay round about,
And crooked branch of oak,
That creep and crawl through obelisk so crack’d but stout,
Nigh warty toad doth croak;
Concentrique found,
Within the ground,
The mouth of Bandersnatch.
