This is a work in progress screenplay about a big day at work for Emily and Mark.

"

Setting : Sitting at a rounded wooden table with 8 large worn black chairs in a large room with big windows looking onto the city (huge skyscrapers, blue skies ) .

It was a perfect day . Yet Mark and Emily found themselves sitting in their office alone bored and with nowhere to go.

Emily speaking in a thick irritated British accent:

Do we really have to sit here and wait for his mighty self.

Mark waiting anxiously says in a quivering American accent : Why do you have to be like this he’ll be here any moment.

Emily shakes legs furiously

Mark bites lip anxiously

Emily says almost yelling :

I can't believe I’m missing the biggest party of the year for this stupid meeting.

Mark: It seems he won't show up after all.

Suddenly the huge glass doors of the office open and in walks a man carrying with him so much power it could melt you

Emily and Mark stand up immediately

Alexander: Sit down please , it’s a beautiful day isn’t yet

Emily’s speaks with a voice filled with sarcasm :

Yeah glad we’re enjoying it to the max.

Mark hits Emily’s legs underneath the table

Mark: What Emily means sir is that we are so glad you freed up your time so you could be here with us .

Alexander tenses up : Yes of course

What was that deal you wanted to discuss today ?

Time lapse 3 hours later:

Emily , Mark and Alexander are all standing around the table all seeming tired

Alexander reaches out to shake Mark’s hand

Alexander : It’s been a pleasure doing business with you . My lawyers will reach out to finish the deal

Alexander shakes Emily’s hands and exits.

Mark turns to Emily saying : Well that was better than I expected.

Emily speaks excitedly : Wow I can’t believe we just made a huge deal with the biggest businessmen in the world.

Cut to Emily walking out of the huge building holding a white briefcase .

Emily monologue :

Who would have thought making business deals would be easier than going out to lunch with my mother, which by the way I’m late to.

Emily steps out to catch a cap several drive by before one finally stops
