The Walk Home

The Walk Home

A Poem by Jazz
"

I'm quite enjoying writing all these haikus!

"
Darkness descends and
Fallen leaves crunch underfoot:
Tail lights stream by.

The colon is the 'cut' commonly seen in haikus. The cut is supposed to be the element of surprise or contrast within a haiku.

Yes the sudden "Ah" moment when the mind draws its conclusion to the Haiku, never heard the colon called "The Cut" before, but I am merely learning my crafte and haikus are not something I do all of the time. As for this haiku, it brought to mind a place I used to hang out as a child and the leaves would scatter one the ground as the cars drove by!
