"Immeasurable Pain"

Here I sit ...key on finger

All my saddness here does linger,

Like a Dark cloud over head,

First Born Silent....Mother Dead.

My Youngest lives so far away,

The one he loves has gone astray,

His broken heart makes me feel sad,

His voice betrays the loss he's had.

My second born with born face,

in pain his Body and Soul keep pace,

Defeated heart making the case,

He should rely on God's good grace.

My third born with a father's heart cries,

Watching his son through surgeons eyes,

Grandson bravely getting through,

So much grief hurts my heart too.

It's easy when the pains not yours,

To close your eyes...to shut the door,

Not so when Children...they are yours,

Sharing the Saddness they endure.

If their pain...I could erase,

I'd take them to a better place,

Thank You God...for staying near,

For giving me your listening ear.

I know our sorrow's not the same,

Your Son endured immeasurable pain.

Without Your strength we'd not survive,

Thank You God...we are alive.

Author's Note

Jeanne Broome
It was written in 2006 when I was very overwhelmed with grief and it isn't very good...but thought I'd post it anyway. Maybe some else could get something out of it. The littlest boy in the picture is my grandson with the incurable disease. He is precious.
