Confined

Confined

A Poem by Jeff Miller
"

I wrote this in March, when it felt like all I wrote was love poems, and someone said they were my best poetry. I don't want to be confined to love. Love is only one big part of what I want to convey

"

I feel so confined

Is my writing still sublime?

Is my best poetry only about love?

I don’t need a push, I need a shove

Let me write what I want

Whether it be to taunt

To attack someone

Or just have a little fun

I can only write what’s on my mind

When it doesn’t FEEL like the repetitive kind

I want my poems to stand out

I want each line to shout!

I wish to breathe meaning into them

I wish to spit out more than phlegm

I want these ideas to flow

I want to rise above the status quo!
