Sonnet 16 (Shakespearean Style)

Sonnet 16 (Shakespearean Style)

A Poem by Jeff Miller

“A sonnet is a moment’s monument”

It is written to give tribute to time;

Sonnets are only endearing comments

To moments that give reason to our rhyme.

They’re writ to express feelings and events

Whether it be to relate history

Or to express our anger and to vent,

They are written to tell you a story.

But, just like history they aren’t flawless,

Everything in life has it’s own flaws,

But, alas, all sonnets are meant to stress

To emphasize and show you their just cause.

  Hark! All sonnets written are only terse

  Poems that are written to preserve time in verse.

I've always envied people who are able to write graceful sonnets (or poems in any kind of concrete form, really). So, respect for that. :) excellent job
