Displaced

Displaced

A Poem by Jen

Displaced is the tear of a child missing their

parent the first day of pre-school

Feeling displaced a kaleidoscope of emotions

crushing fragile self-esteem of a college girl

gone unacknowledged at a fraternity party

Displaced is a seasoned adult familiar with

the events that happen along a road of change

Feeling displaced is unsettling as you look upon

every avenue searching for that one direction

to your hearts true desire

Displaced is not knowing which room will be

most comforting as you lay your head to rest at night

Feeling displaced is an emotion that will force you into choice

Will you wander or start laying down the stepping stones

leading away from that street named displaced?
